Advance Dungeons & Dragons: DragonStrike - Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)

DragonStrike is based on the popular role playing tabletop game, Dungeons and Dragons. Ok, I’m not a D&D player. I’m more of a War Hammer kind of girl. I like to paint the figures and put them on my shelf. Anyways, DragonStrike on the NES plays so awkwardly. Maybe I just picked the wrong dragon, because I picked the fastest one. Still, you control your dragon on an axis. Meaning, you rotate to navigate. It’s 8-Bit dog fighting. What’s so annoying is that all your enemies have high accuracy dead on aim. Like seriously, give me a break here! Luckily, there’s hidden items that can boost your stats and even recover you. Taking out enemies and exploration is rewarded well. Problem is the enemies won’t hold still and most of my shots miss. Uhh!! So frustrating!! I’m so use to straight forward shooters. I just want to shoot and go. And the boss enemies are so difficult. I must of tried defeating the Black Dragon in the second level like over twenty times. I probably did pick the wrong dragon for my tactics.

Ok, look, this isn’t a bad game. It’s just different and difficult. You just need to practice and be patient. Patience is not my strength. I like to be fast and head strong. This is probably why I failed so hard at this game. If you want a challenge, absolutely go for it. This game is for you. Just make sure you pick the right dragon that fits your tactical style.
