The Adventures of Bayou Billy is an absolute train wreck of a video game. Konami really drop the ball on this one. Yes, Konami games are difficult, but this is just bad game design. It is slow, it is obnoxiously loud, and it is BORING! How does one make fighting alligators with your bare hands BORING!?
The enemies have too much health. Fighting one enemy is like a mini-boss on its own. They do not hold still and they attack relentlessly. If you attack head on, you will take damage. If you attack invasively, the game will DRAAAAAAAAAGG!! If you want to make it to the end, you will need to fight invasively, because there is no block button.
Points for Konami trying to breakup the monotony by having driving and light gun stages. Yes, you can use your NES Zapper for shooting in these stages. Problem is the game is too difficult to even make it to those levels. I couldn’t even make it past the first level! Uhh!!
Bad enemy programming and difficulty, loud obnoxious sound effects, slow dragging gameplay, and overall boring experience!
