Bank Panic is a port of an arcade game. It is a very simple high score game, but it’s charming. I enjoyed myself playing this game for my review. What is really ten minutes worth of gameplay, became a half hour of learning to master and beat it. Repeatedly topping my own high score with every attempt.
You are a sheriff in an old western town. You are guarding a bank, watching patrons make deposits and stopping wanted criminals from robbing the bank. The controls can be confusing, so I’ll break it down for you. Button 1 shoots center, Button 2 shoots right, and Up shoots left. Don’t shoot the honest customers and beat the robbers at the draw. Watch out, cause the robbers can be tricky using the patrons as hostages. Look out for bombs and shoot them off the doors. Have each door drop off a deposit successfully to complete the stage. Each stage gets more difficult, so have good reaction timing and time management skills.
If you’re looking for a simple and fun arcade experience, I recommend Bank Panic for the SEGA Master System. It is very charming and easy to get the hang of quickly. My only complaint is the one song that plays throughout the game can be monotonous. Bonus points for the Fan Service Pantsu Shots, when you accidentally shoot the female patrons. Classic Japanese Humor 😆
